Past President – Denny Valentine

Denny Valentine

Denny graduated from High school and attended College of San Mateo continuing on to Chico State. He joined the Army Intelligence Corps during his senior year and was stationed in Germany where he met and married Sheilah who was teaching for the Army. While in the Army he served as a counter espionage agent along the Czech Border.

On returning from overseas he completed college and was selected as an intern with the California County Government Education Foundation and upon completion began a career in public policy and legislative advocacy. During a few of those years he served on the Board of Muscular Dystrophy Association Legislative Golf Tournament.

In 1992 Denny and Sheilah moved to Nebraska working for the Nebraska Public Power District as Vice President of Marketing and Public Affairs. Retiring in 1996, he and Sheilah built their dream home on property they had acquired for that purpose many years prior. During this time Denny became active in the American Legion and their scholarship program.

2002 saw Denny and Sheilah returning to California and settling in Lincoln Hills. Shortly after arriving they volunteered to run a polling booth for the County. Next was a year on the Grand Jury and then Forman the second year. He also served on the Board of Neighborhood Watch and on the Board of The Lincoln Community Foundation for six years two of those as President. Denny has also served on the Home Owners Association Board.

These have all been very rewarding experiences and provided an opportunity to become acquainted with very special people, many of whom give far more of their time and energy than would seem possible.
